Abundant Life: Lessons of the Christian Life 7 - Heaven
Hi, kids! Did you know Jesus came to earth to give us an abundant life? Here’s what He said about His followers in John 10:10… “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” So, what does that mean? How do we get to do this? What will it look like in our lives? When we receive His gift of salvation, our lives will change, and there should be differences that others around us can notice! We’ll be taking a few weeks to talk about some of the foundational aspects of the Christian life that can help you live abundantly!
Lesson 7: Heaven
A good life is something that everyone wants to live! Jesus said that He can give us a good life, He called it an abundant life, which means life-to-the-full. He said we can have that if we believe in Him. Last time we learned why it’s so important to tell others about our abundant life. This week we’re going to learn about heaven, which is where we will get to spend eternity with Jesus..
Today’s Bible Story: The Rich Man and Lazarus
Jesus told His disciples a parable in Luke 16 about a rich man, and his poor neighbour named Lazarus. (Just so you know, there was another man in the Bible named Lazarus, and Jesus raised him from the dead, but this is a different Lazarus.) This poor man named Lazarus would beg in front of the rich man’s house, longing for food. But the rich man would never share with him. One day, both men died.
