Abundant Life: Lessons of the Christian Life 8 - Jesus' Return!
Hi, kids! Did you know Jesus came to earth to give us an abundant life? Here’s what He said about His followers in John 10:10… “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” So, what does that mean? How do we get to do this? What will it look like in our lives? When we receive His gift of salvation, our lives will change, and there should be differences that others around us can notice! Today is the last lesson about the foundational aspects of the Christian life that can help you live abundantly!
Lesson 8: Jesus’ Return!
A good life is something that everyone wants to live! Jesus said that He can give us a good life, He called it an abundant life, which means life-to-the-full. He said we can have that if we believe in Him. Last time we learned all about heaven, which is where we will get to spend eternity with Jesus. Today we’re going to talk about Jesus coming back for us!
Today’s Bible Story: Jesus’ Ascension
After Jesus rose from the dead, He spent 40 days with His disciples. He appeared to them, many times supernaturally, He ate with them, He walked with them on the road, and He taught them how His coming was promised all the way back to Moses. Jesus took His disciples to the Mount of Olives where they asked Him if He was going to take power over the Roman government at that time. He told them that instead, they would go out into all the world to preach the gospel and the kingdom of heaven. Then He was taken up into heaven. Here’s a Bible Story video about that encounter:
