Abundant Life: Lessons of the Christian Life 5 - The Word
Hi, kids! Did you know Jesus came to earth to give us an abundant life? Here’s what He said about His followers in John 10:10… “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” So, what does that mean? How do we get to do this? What will it look like in our lives? When we receive His gift of salvation, our lives will change, and there should be differences that others around us can notice! We’ll be taking a few weeks to talk about some of the foundational aspects of the Christian life that can help you live abundantly!
Lesson 5: The Word
A good life is something that everyone wants to live! Jesus said that He can give us a good life, He called it an abundant life, which means life-to-the-full. He said we can have that if we believe in Him. Last time we learned that a big part of an abundant life is prayer, which is simply talking to God, and listening to Him, too. This week we’re going to learn about how you can know what God is like and know all the promises God has for us in this abundant life, and that is through knowing His Word.
Today’s Bible Story: Paul and the Bereans
Acts 17 in the Bible talks about how Paul and his friends Silas and Timothy were travelling around and preaching about Jesus. They came to the city of Berea, where they found the Jews there to be very open to the teaching of Jesus as Messiah. Not only were the Bereans open to hearing about Jesus, they then studied the scriptures themselves to see if Paul was preaching the truth Here’s a Bible Story video about that encounter:
