God, Show Me You, MORE! #fromSunday

Hey Everyone -

We're asking God these days to show us more of Him. It's a great way to help us prepare for whatever this year holds. There's so much we can't control in our world, and yet there's this: we can walk increasingly deeper in relationship with the God who created it all, and the one who has a rock solid plan. That's comforting, right?

  • Here is our service from this last Sunday online where we discussed this idea in depth. In case you missed it, you’ll find:

    1. 00:00 - Five minute countdown

    2. 05:06 - Welcome Intro

    3. 06:40 - Worship

    4. 32:21 - Short break

    5. 33:20 - Kids Segment - New series on The Names of God. Also here

    6. 45:14 - Message - Prayers that Work

  • In the message we discussed what it’s like to open the door on 2021 (sound effects included!) and the prayers we can pray right now that’ll really work for setting up 2021 well. Friends, the prayers you pray are heard by a God who loves you and cares about you. He will show Himself more to you, just for the asking. Wow! See Fuel for Your Week section below for more on that.

  • I referred to The Pause App in my message. Here’s the link to it. Check it out! www.thepauseapp.com

  • Thanks to many of you for joining in on our Prayer and Fasting Initiative. (And if you haven’t yet, you still can!) This initiative ends Jan. 24th when we take communion together again. More about prayer and fasting is here with our new years message from Mara and I (in case you missed it!)

Here’s to a joy-filled January! May your homes be filled with His Grace and abundantly blessed :-)

Fuel For Your Week

As we ask God to show us more of Himself this week, remember to find:

  • Some time. Extra time to spend with God, asking Him to show you Himself in a new way

  • A pen. And a dedicated place to begin to write out what God’s showing you

  • A friend. Take the initiative and find someone you can talk with about what God’s showing you.

To be specific, we're asking God to show us more of:

  • His Path - the way that you should go in your life, how you should handle your challenges and changes He may want you to make

  • His Presence - the experience of knowing God moment-by-moment, of sensing Him with you in your day-to-day

  • His Purpose - this comes down to God’s goodness being made known to you, and flowing thru you to others. This is your part in the heavenly vision of God’s Glory being made known on the earth!

Let's look at the first of these this week: His Path for you. In your praying:

  • READ: Prov. 3:5-6, THEN PRAY: "God I acknowledge you in {this} area of my life (a challenge you face, decision you need to make, etc.). Pray thru and move your heart into trust in whatever area He shows you. The promise is He will make your path successful

  • READ: Prov. 4:18-19, THEN PRAY: "God show me where I have erred". This requires humility before God. Some (at last!) of the struggle in our lives is of our own making. Pray Prov. 4/xx. Ask God to show you what has made you stumble

  • READ: Prov. 27:12, THEN PRAY: "God show me where I’m headed”. There is so much wisdom in thinking through where the current trends in your life are taking you. Time with your kids, or friends. That relationship that’s off the rails. Your work commitments. Etc. Etc. Take some time to hear the wisdom of the Lord about what direction you’re heading in.

And, as always, be blessed this week! Feel free to email me or txt/ph to discuss any of this further, for help in an area of your life, or for prayer.

See you around online soon!
