Finding Ourselves in God's Story #fromSunday

Here is our service from this last Sunday online, in case you missed it:
In the message we talked about looking ahead into 2021 and how we can look at Scripture and find our story in those pages. A great comfort indeed! See section below for more fuel for your week on this topic.
At the end of the service we kicked off 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting. Thanks to many of you for joining in. If you haven’t yet, you still can. This initiative ends Jan. 24th when we take communion together again. More about prayer and fasting is here with our new years message from Mara and I.

Fuel For Your Week
In this kick-off month for 2021 I’m encouraging us all to find:
Some time. Extra time to spend with God, asking Him to show you Himself in a new way
A pen. And a dedicated place to begin to write out what God’s showing you
A friend. Take the initiative and find someone you can talk with about what God’s showing you.
When looking for God to show Himself in a new way, it’s a great idea to turn to the Bible with the idea that YOU and YOUR STORY are in those pages. We looked at three places in the Bible that this is true. Read these pages thoroughly as you ask the Holy Spirit to show you how it applies to your life. Write down and speak with someone THIS WEEK (!) about what He’s showing you:
2 Thess. 2 - this is a prophetic passage that speaks about things happening “at the end” and “before Christ’s return”. Vs. 16 and 17 should be the litmus test of how in tune we are with God when it comes to conspiracies, this day we’re living in, and such matters.
Psalm 21 - YOU are the royalty spoken of in this passage. If verse 2 was to be true of you this year what would be the result? Allow desires and hopes and dreams to surface in your heart as you contemplate this.
Acts 2 - This is the account of how the church first started. In it, it was declared they were living in the days of ancient prophesy being fulfilled! Read the prophecy carefully, because it’s still being fulfilled today. How amazing is that?! Your story, right there. Find yourself in it today. Let it sink in that God wants to use you this way. Ask Him for it. What is He showing you?
