Good News for a Change Anyone?! #fromSunday

Wow! Hey peoples! We trust you were blessed by the online service this Sunday. If you haven’t yet experienced it, you can do so here. What stood out to me was:

  • The online engagement of everyone watching the service. It was wonderful to experience that togetherness. We had the MOST comments in the chat under the video than we’ve EVER had before! Thanks everyone! Let’s go out of our way to keep this up. What we’re feeling here is the Spirit of God uniting us!

  • The Kid’s Component was a wrap up of the series on the Power Gifts. Folks, if you missed these, go thru them with your kids. Such great content, and we really feel God wants it to expand to an even greater audience, so feel free to share it. Find it all here: www.gatewayvictory.com/kids

  • I was really tickled (encouraged?!) this Sunday morning in regards to the series on Joy that we started. I was scrolling through Facebook and happened upon P. Leon Fontain’s live broadcast. The title? “Joy - the Strength of a Leader”. So great to know the Spirit of God is leading His church into all truth. Leon’s was a great message btw. If the topic is being highlighted to you too, check it out here.

The takeaway from my message, the thing that I feel God wants us to do, is to set up “reminders” in our routines of the Joy that comes from God. More specifically, and in the words of Phil. 4:4 to ‘rejoice in the Lord”. Below you’ll find a track to run on along these lines. Let’s do this GVC!

Drop me a line or txt and let me know how things are over in your world. Would love to dialogue with you further :-)

Mara and I are praying and speaking His peace and joy into your hearts. Love you all,

Rowan

Fuel for the Week

Sunday message, main point, was that Joy is a Divine Gift, to believers. Stressing this are Jesus’ words to us, as we looked at, here, here, and here - all from John 15-17. Based on these verses, lets remind ourselves this week…Three ideas for you:

  • REMINDER ONE: Jn. 15:9-11 shows us that the key to joy are the words Jesus has spoken. It is this “good news” that is spoken into our hearts And what is the summation of this good news? It is that we are LOVED BY THE FATHER. See the full context here. It is beholding on and dwelling on the abiding, non-changing, secure love of the Father in a way captures our hearts that waters the fruit of joy in our lives. Write out and memorize these verses: 1 Jn. 3:1, Jn. 15:11, and Romans 8:23 by re-reading them at set times during your day

  • REMINDER TWO: Speaking of the Father’s Love for us, take this song, like you would a medicine, 2 times daily. Or want a Christmas song suggestion? Is your heart hearing the “good news” that comes from God this December? Here’s a great Christmas song (a favorite in our home!) that shows us what it means that God has come. Allow your heart to “rejoice in the Lord” as you listen. How about putting one of these songs in your vehicle for every errand you run this Dec., or setting it to play as your alarm clock?

  • REMINDER THREE: Reminders are best when repeated throughout your day, and nothing better to repeat is a Word-laden prayer. Consider reading out (meaning every word with your heart as you read) a prayer as a new part of your daily routine. You can find some great options here.

In all your reminding yourself, remember this: When you lean into truth not only does it set you free but it sows into your heart, and waters with perfect nutrients the fruit of the spirit there. I declare: JOY will come forth for you this December more than ever before. Praise God!

Have a blessed week! Be encouraged in Jesus’ Name :-)
