Made for Praise! Lesson 2/8 - Barak

What is praise and worship? Are there different ways to praise the Lord? What’s it for? How do we do it? The following lessons help kids explore what it means to praise the Lord, and the amazing power and results we can get from doing it. Different words in the Bible are translated as “praise,” and each of them describes a different way to praise.

Today’s Hebrew Praise Word: Barak which means to bless the Lord for how great He is! Peter and John did this after being detained by the Pharisees. They were then released, the house they went to shook with HS power, and they were filled with boldness to preach and heal the sick. Check it out in Acts 4:13-31.

Here’s our teaching video that talks all about this: Made for Praise - Lesson 2 - Barak

And here’s a video about this Bible Story: Peter and John Heal a Man; LifeKids

Have you ever been to an award ceremony where they tell great things about someone and give them a prize or trophy? That’s what Barak looks like. When we focus on someone’s greatness, we help to empower them to achieve even more great things. The same is true when we focus on God’s greatness -- He in turn does great things for us, and that sets us free from our circumstances!

And that brings us to our praise motto this week: When I praise the Lord, I am set free!
