Fear Paints a Picture
Make no mistake, fear in your heart paints a picture. It's a picture of your future self and it's colored with anxiety, uncertainty, and speculation.
In fact you can get some insight into why you're feeling the way you're feeling by taking a minute to examine the picture you're holding inside. How does it feel - Dark? What's for sure in your life - not much? What are the assumptions - worst case? IF so, fear is at work.
Fear works in the absence of knowing you're loved by God. Think of it: if you didn't know God cared for you, then your life would be dark, without certainty, and without expectation of good. If you somewhat know God's love, then, to that degree, your life is somewhat brighter, there is some certainty, and you hope for some good.
But if you’re thoroughly convinced of the love God has for you, your future is incredibly bright, there is the rock-solid certainty found in His Promises, and you have an eager expectation of good!
Oh to be there!
The good news is, because of the work of Christ, we can find God's love. And when we do, His perfect love casts out all fear! Not only that, the valve of the revelation of God's love for us is one that we can control! For the rest of our days here on the planet, we can walk in an increasing awareness of the love the Father has for us.
This, then, is our journey as believers. For, make no mistake, God's love in our hearts paints an amazing picture. It's a picture of our future, and it's brilliantly colored with trust, certainty, hope!
