Just Like Me! Lesson 4 - David Had a Heart after God

Hey, boys and girls! Did you know that the Bible is full of kids just like you who did great things for God? It’s like they were super heroes! Each one of these child heroes displayed Godly character. Character traits like HONOUR, BOLDNESS, and COMPASSION. We’re going to look at each of these kids and see how what they did helped them grow up into who they came to be for God. Best of all, you can do the very same things as these kids did, because they are Just Like You! And because you have the Holy Spirit available to help, you, too, can grow up into super great men and women of God!

David slaying Goliath as a young boy is probably the most well-known story in the whole Bible. But it was David’s heart, not his killing Goliath, that made God seek Him out and anoint him through Samuel to be the king of Israel. Later in his life, David’s HEART AFTER GOD kept turning him back to God, even when He made mistakes as a husband, father, and king. In Acts 13:22 God said, “I have found David son of Jesse, a man after My own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.”
