In the Storm

    When you're in a storm:

    1. Re-calibrate your understanding of what this is all about. Storms are for the development of our faith and trust in God. We want to be through it, on the other side and looking back. Have no fear, you'll get there, but what God has His eyes on is in the inner workings of your heart: are you trusting Him, are you looking to Him, are you keeping your spiritual chin up? This is what it's really all about in His eyes - the increase of your ability to trust Him.
    2. Believe in what God has already shown you. God doesn't send you into a storm without giving you adequate guidance and direction. The challenge is believing what God showed you in the light, when you're in the darkness! Go back to what He's already said and place your faith firmly on that. Ask Him to remind you.
    3. Keep awake spiritually. The enemy wants hard times to be the time we check out and sit back to mope. Self-pity and defeat will quickly wrap their arms around you and destroy your dreams if you let them. Instead, ask God to wrap His arms around you. Ask Him to give you some reprieve and insight as to how He sees things.

It doesn't matter how tough things are. Doesn't matter the wind and the waves. God has given you the goods to get through it and get to the other side of what you're facing. What matters most are our choices in the storm. Do this well, saint!
